Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) was honored by the Los Angeles County Fire Fighters Local 1014 for her support of federal efforts to help firefighters and their families, including her support of the Employee Free Choice Act (HR 800). The landmark legislation, which would help to protect and preserve the right of every American to freely organize and participate in the collective bargaining process, passed the House of Representatives on March 1 with the congresswoman’s support in a vote of 241 to 185. The award featuring a firefighting gold shield, says “Presented to U.S. Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard on behalf of Firefighters Local 1014, and all Los Angeles area working families. For a “new day” in the 110th Congress including passage of HR 800 and other efforts in support of Unions everywhere."
