Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard meets with members of the National League of California Cities-Latino Caucus who were in our nation’s capital to attend the organization’s Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) conference. The group’s members discussed the organization’s 2007 policy priorities and goals which include increased funding for: public schools, more open space; health care for families; first-time homeownership incentives; public safety personnel; and revitalization efforts in low-income areas. The Latino Caucus is a non-profit affiliate of the League of California Cities. Established in 1990 as a community resource, the Latino Caucus continues its goal of improving quality of life through advocacy by addressing professional, socio economics, educational, cultural, and political issues. The League of California Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.
