Representatives with the nonpartisan Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) congratulated Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) on her perfect score on the organization’s 2008 Congressional Report Card. The report card is based on votes made by the congresswoman in the U.S. House of Representatives on key issues facing new veterans, such as veterans' health care, the new GI Bill, mental health initiatives, and support for homeless veterans. Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America is the nation's first and largest nonprofit organization for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. It has more than 125,000 veteran members and civilian supporters nationwide. During the visit, the representatives also discussed the organization’s legislative priorities for 2009.
