Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) joined more than 100 seniors at the Filipino American Service Group, Inc.’s Christmas party held at the organization’s office on North Park View Street in Historic Filipinotown.  Organizers presented the congresswoman with flowers and a framed tribute featuring photos of her previous visits.

During the congresswoman’s remarks, she provided the seniors with an overview of her constituent casework services.  She also discussed the upcoming Digital Television Transition deadline, which is February 17, 2009.  After that date, she told the audience, broadcasters will air digital signals exclusively and televisions that rely on a rooftop antenna or “rabbit ears” will no longer work properly. For those televisions, she said viewers will need to obtain a converter box to continue using the set.  More information about the transition and converter box coupons is available at www.dtv.gov or by calling 1-888-DTV-2009.

Incorporated in 1981, the Filipino American Service Group, Inc.
