Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) visited with more than 150 residents at the annual Neighborhood Watch holiday celebration held at Turner Hall in Clara Street Park.

During the congresswoman’s remarks, she provided residents with an overview of her constituent casework services available through her Downtown district office by calling (213) 628-9230.  The congresswoman also reminded constituents about important deadlines for the Medicare program and the upcoming Digital Television Transition.  Regarding the transition, she told the audience that after February 17, broadcasters will air digital signals exclusively and televisions that rely on a rooftop antenna or “rabbit ears” will no longer work properly. For those televisions, she said viewers will need to obtain a converter box to continue using the set.  More information about the transition and converter box coupons is available at www.dtv.gov or by calling 1-888-DTV-2009.  In addition, the congresswoman’s staff announced the upcoming 34th Congressional District Student Art Competition, which is available to all high school students living in the 34th Congressional District.  For more information, please contact the congresswoman’s district office or visit www.34thcdsac.org.
