Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard hosted a free Children and Youth Services Grants Workshop to provide local non-profit organizations and municipalities with assistance in obtaining grant application materials and the latest information on how to prepare grant proposals. Located at Ross Hall at the Bell Gardens Veterans Park on Loveland Street, grantors were on hand to explain what they look for and to provide technical assistance on grant writing. The agencies that provided assistance at the workshop included: U.S. Department of Labor (YouthBuild); California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; First 5 L.A./Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP); and the California Community Foundation.
