Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) thanked Downey resident Maria Larkin (shown on left in first photo) for welcoming her and nearly two dozen of her friends and neighbors to an informal neighborhood gathering at her home. The casual meeting provided the congresswoman an opportunity to meet the residents and share with them updates about federal legislation pending before Congress. As a member on the House Appropriations Committee, the congresswoman also discussed the federal funding process and how she is able to secure federal funding for important Downey initiatives.
