Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) thanks Cullen Cowen - a constituent who lives in Temple-Beaudry just west of Downtown in the congresswoman’s 34th District - for his assistance as an intern in her downtown district office. While completing his two-month internship, Cullen performs a wide variety of tasks, such as drafting letters, data entry, research and basic clerical duties. Cullen also accompanies field staff to briefings and events throughout the district. Cullen is a graduate of Canoga Park High School in Canoga Park, CA and the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in political science. In the fall, Cullen plans to apply for Officer Candidate School at the Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island where he plans to undertake a 13-week rigorous course to become a Naval officer. Students who live in the 34th Congressional District and are interested in internship opportunities in the congresswoman’s district or Washington, D.C. offices are encouraged to call Juan Carlos-Aviles at (213) 628-9230.
