Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard answered questions about the need for comprehensive immigration reform and other federal issues impacting her Asian Pacific American constituents at a community gathering in the Arts District of Downtown. The meeting was convened by Asian Pacific Americans for Progress that works to develop a national network of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) interested in progressive politics and increasing APA involvement in local and national politics. Residents of the Arts District, Boyle Heights and Little Tokyo - all located in California’s 34th Congressional District – participated in the meeting and represented notable local organizations, including the Downtown Art Walk, the Chinatown Service Center, the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, the Philippine American Bar Association and the LA River Arts Basin Association.
