Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) congratulated Commerce city leaders, community members and the city’s staff for helping to make Commerce, “The Model City,” it is known to be. During the city’s dinner and dance celebration in recognition of its 47-year anniversary at Steven’s Steakhouse in Commerce, the congresswoman presented Mayor Nancy Ramos with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition in honor of the city’s “…rich history, tradition, and growth.” The congresswoman also said she will continue to advocate in Congress on behalf of the city. Since Fiscal Year 2000, the congresswoman secured more than $5.3 million in federal funds for the city’s transportation needs, including the widening of Washington Blvd. Mayor Nancy Ramos provided an overview of the city’s past accomplishments and outlined the city’s goals for the new year.
