Located in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles, Union Rescue Mission is dedicated to serving the poor and homeless and is one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States. In addition to supplying food, shelter and clothing, the mission provides a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services to its guests, including medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, counseling, and job training to needy men, women and children. The congresswoman also toured the mission's five-story facility that has the capacity to serve nearly 800 men, women and children on a daily basis.
