Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard passed out calendars to seniors at the Angelus Plaza senior housing complex and invited them to take advantage of her constituent casework services available for assistance with federal agencies. With approximately 1,300 residents, Angelus Plaza in Downtown is the largest senior activity and housing center in the congresswoman's district. Angelus Plaza offers a wide range of activities for seniors, including language, dancing, computer and exercise classes, shopping trips and movie nights. A longtime advocate of the center, the congresswoman secured $75,000 in federal funds for Angelus Plaza to acquire multi-language translation equipment, which is frequently used by the seniors for large informational and educational events, workshops and seminars. More information about the congresswoman's casework services is available by calling her district office at (213) 628-9230.
