SRO Housing Corporation's Executive Director/CEO Anita Nelson and its Director of Housing Management, Steven Van Zyle, led Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) on a guided tour of one of the hotels owned by the organization and operated to house individuals who were formerly homeless. The tour took place at the Yankee Hotel located at 501 E. 7th St. in the Central City East neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles. Approximately 1,700 formerly homeless and very low-income men and women can be housed at SRO Housing Corporation's two emergency, two transitional and 19 permanent housing sites. Many of the organization's employees are either formerly homeless SRO Housing residents or community members whose history and life experiences are a source of inspiration.
