During a Veterans Day ceremony at Freedom Park, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) read the names of 28 soldiers from the Los Angeles area who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003 and led a moment of silence in their honor. The observance, attended by community elected officials and residents, also included a special presentation by Mayor Juan R. Noguez who unveiled two plaques - one in honor of 53 community residents who lost their lives in wars dating back to WWII and a second plaque recognizing their military branches of service.
