U.S. Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard will host a free information workshop for high school students interested in attending a U.S. service academy. Students will learn about the academy requirements, including the application process for receiving a nomination from the congresswoman. The academies offer an elite college education at no cost, in exchange for an agreement to serve as a military commissioned officer for five years following graduation from the academy.
WHO: High school students and their parents are invited to meet with representatives from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
WHAT: A chance to learn about the U.S. service academies and the opportunity to get a four-year college education for free!
