Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard welcomes Linda López who is part of the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program

Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard welcomes Roosevelt High School junior Linda López to our nation's capital as part of the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program. Linda is one of 71 students from throughout the country and one of 15 students from California participating in the prestigious three-week summer program that ends June 30. The congresswoman, who represents Boyle Heights where Roosevelt High School is located, nominated Linda for the program. In order to qualify for the nomination, page applicants must be in their junior year of high school, at least 16 years of age, and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. As a congressional page, Linda rotates through a variety of assignments within the U.S. Capitol Building complex, including delivering letters, flags and other documents to Members' offices. While in Washington, D.C., Linda is living in the House Page Dormitory near the Capitol. During their meeting, the congresswoman praised the 17 year old for her academic and extracurricular achievements and encouraged her to pursue internship opportunities in college with organizations such as the National Association of Latino Elected Officials and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Linda is the daughter of Guadalupe and Herlinda López of Monterey Park.
