Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) reads the names of 18 fallen soldiers from Los Angeles communities who died in the line of duty since 2003 at the Cinco Puntos 50th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony sponsored by the Eugene Obregon American Legion Post # 804, the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and the GI Forum. Attended by more than 150 area residents, the ceremony also included a speech by State Senator Gloria Romero (who appears seated in the background), a twenty one gun salute and the playing of Taps. Former Los Angeles Times reporter George Ramos, who has participated in the Memorial Day service for more than 10 years, was the master of ceremonies.
