Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) encourages nearly 50 immigrant students and their friends participating in this year's National Lobby Day on Capitol Hill to tell their personal stories to Members of Congress to help garner support for a bill she co-authored called the American Dream Act. From the Los Angeles area, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) and the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium (NAKASEC) brought several students to DC to participate in the lobby day. The American Dream Act would help talented undocumented immigrant students fulfill their dream of attending college and becoming American citizens. The legislation is included in the immigration bill that passed the Senate this week.
