A Tour of the Para Los Niños Family Learning Complex

Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard toured the Para Los Niños Family Learning Complex located in Downtown Los Angeles in the 34th Congressional District. 

Lead by Para Los Niños President/CEO Gisselle Acevedo and Elena Stern, Vice President of Government and Media Relations, the tour included visits to their on-site Para Los Niños Charter Elementary School, early education center, private library, and recreation area.  During the tour, a group of third grade students presented the congresswoman with a collaborative student painting entitled, “Georgia O’Keeffe,” in appreciation for her continued support of quality education.

Para Los Niños is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving thousands of children from low-income families in an effort to break the cycle of poverty and improve their lives through education and family services.  Para Los Niños’ programs include Child Development Centers, Preschool Programs, After-school Programs (for Children and Youth), Charter School, Youth Workforce Services, a Summer Day Camp Program, Family Resource Centers, a Family Preservation Program, Youth Development Services and Mental Health Services. 

The organization’s main offices and original site are located within blocks of Downtown Los Angeles.  Additional programs and services are located in the underserved inner cities of Los Angeles, including Skid Row, Pico-Union, East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, South El Monte and surrounding communities, as well Ontario, in San Bernardino County.
