In observance of National Health Center Week, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) toured the Edward R. Roybal Comprehensive Health Center on Fetterly Avenue and received an overview of the center’s medical, dental, pediatric, and diabetes clinics.

Named after the congresswoman’s late father who once represented the area in Congress, the public, not-for-profit health center is one of three comprehensive health centers operated by the LAC+USC Healthcare Network.  The center provides approximately 79,000 visits annually.

A longtime supporter of the clinic, the congresswoman secured federal funding for needed improvements at the facility, including equipment upgrades in the center’s radiology department.

Elected to Congress in 1992, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard is a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, the Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Health Task Force, and the Co-Chair of the Congressional Study Group on Public Health.
