CONGRESSWOMAN LUCILLE ROYBAL-ALLARD (CA-34) INVITES STUDENTS AND PARENTS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE U.S. SERVICE ACADEMIES

WHAT
:     U.S. Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard will host a free information workshop for high school students interested in attending a U.S. service academy.  Students will learn about the academy requirements, including the application process for receiving a nomination from the congresswoman. The service academies provide a free college education in return for five years of military service as a commissioned officer following graduation.

WHO:       High school students and their parents are invited to meet with representatives from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, current students including U.S. Military Academy Cadet HeeYeon Kim, and Col. Mark Toy, Commander and District Engineer of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers LA District.

WHEN:    Saturday, October 22nd 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., registration opens at 9 a.m.
