Hi, I’m Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard.

Currently, our immigrant communities are living in fear as a result of the Trump policies that threaten their families.

I want every immigrant to know that in the United States, we all have rights.

The following information should not be considered as legal advice. For such advice, consult an immigration attorney.

IF AN ICE AGENT COMES TO YOUR HOUSE
• You do not have to open the door.
• You can ask to see a judicial warrant through the window or have it slipped under the door.
• If they do not have a judicial warrant signed by a judge, ask them to leave.
• If the agent enters without a valid judicial warrant, ask for their name and badge number.

KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER
• Do not show false documents and do not lie to an immigration agent.
• Do not carry false identification.
• Do not carry papers from another country, such as a foreign passport or consular ID.
• You do not have to reveal your immigration status, or say where you were born or how you entered the U.S.

Visit my web site for more information on what to do if an ICE agent comes to your workplace, you are arrested, or you are mistreated by an ICE agent.

To protect yourself, know your rights!
